 Our Areas of Ministry to the World and Community:
Food Share 
Bring a canned good on the first Sunday of each month to be given to a local food pantry.  Commonly needed items:     
  • Protein:   Canned meats, Peanut Butter, Macaroni & Cheese, Chili
  • Grains & Cereals:   Hot & Cold Cereal, Rice, Pasta, Breads, Bread/Cake/Pancake Mixes
  • Canned Fruits & Veggies:   Vegetables, Fruit and Vegetable Juices, Soups, Beans, Fruits
  • Dairy:   Baby Formula, Powdered Milk, Evaporated milk

Camping Ministry:  Do you want to experience God through nature and fellowship?  The OR-ID United Methodist Conference has wonderful opportunities to "rekindle" your fire.  Check out www.gocamping.org for more info.
 Rose Advocates: Throughout the year our church helps an organization that helps women of domestic violence or are victims in need of assistance... www.roseadvocates.com/.

World Ministry through UMCOR: 
 

What is UMCOR?  The United Methodist Committee on Relief is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church.  UMCOR is working in more than 80 countries worldwide, including the United States.  Its mission, grounded in the teachings of Jesus, is to alleviate human suffering—whether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster, with open hearts and minds to all people.

 

UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own. In times of acute crisis UMCOR mobilizes emergency supplies, fresh water, and temporary shelter to stricken areas, and implements long-term recovery. Their workers are known all over the globe for their compassion, leadership, expertise and guidance in recovery efforts, and they are on the ground in Haiti and other spots around the world right now.

 

100% of the monies raised through UMCOR go directly to relief efforts.  There is no overhead cost deducted from your donation, because our apportionment payments here at the Payette Church and from other United Methodist Churches around the country, fund their overhead costs.  Both Charity Navigator and Charity Watch give UMCOR their highest ratings because of these expense ratios.
